Al Qaeda directive in Afghanistan

Reports by Australian media suggest that a senior al Qaeda official has called on the Taliban to wage a campaign of kidnapping foreign civilians in Afghanistan in order to force US-led forces to negotiate prisoner exchanges.

The directive has been issued by veteran al Qaeda adviser Mustafa Hamid, also known as Abu Walid al Masri. Leah Farrall told the Australian newspaper that the statement was given as a response to US detentions at Guantanamo Bay.

Next Door Supervisors Course

Our next Door Supervisors Course is being run at our Langstone Technology Park HQ over the weekend of the 30th, 31st and 01st Nov 2009.

Places remain available but book early.

Our weekend course held in conjunction with the Door Supervisor Training Organisation (DSTO) are run over 3 days and not the normal 4.

The contact hours remain the same as for the 4 day course.

First Aid at Work Changes 01 Oct 2009

With the introduction of the new HSE First Aid at Work Course structure on the 01 Oct 2009, comes a responsibilty for companies to respond accordingly by updating their First Aid Risk Assessment and policy to ensure they are appropriately covered.

We are able to help. We can provide an assessment of your First Aid needs and advise on which route to go down. It may be that you would benefit from the Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course it may well be that this is not suitable and you require staff to be fully Fist Aid at Work conversant. Let us help.

If you have staff currently trained as Appointed Persons Then this is particularly important. The Appointed Person course could not be removed totally from First Aid Training as this would have needed an Act of Parliament BUT with the introduction of the new HSE EFAW course there are very few, if any workplaces where an Appointed Person course would cover the Fist Aid needs.

The HSE have recommended that employers “seriously consider” EFAW training.
Let us take the sting out of the new structure and offer no hassle advice as to your compliance. info@sppsolutions.com

Door Supervisor Courrse

We still have places available on the BII Door Supervisors Course being held at Langstone Technology Park, Havant over the weekend 18th – 20th Sept 2009.

The course is 3 rather than 4 days but contains the same content. We have chosen to trial a 3 day course after popular demand. The days on the 3 day course are slightly longer to be able to incorporate the 4th day.

Door Supervisor Courrse

The Door Supervisor course being run this weekend at Langstone Technology Park will be the BII version of the qualification.

This will be the second time we have run a weekend course and it has proved successful due to people having the opportunity to book one day off work (Fri) and gain a qualification to enable them to look for work or have a change of career direction.

We are running these courses in conjunction with the Door Supervisor Training Organisation (DSTO)

There has been an Anti Capitalist Campaign running from the 01 Aug 2009 and culminating next weekend, the 18th and 19th September 2009.

Activists have called for more direct action in the run up to next weekend and in particular towards autonomous and occupied spaces.

If your business or travel plans take you into the Capital then please be aware of this and plan accordingly. Security planning has worked well up to now with up to the minute alerts as to location, movements and numbers of activists moving through and around the City.
