SPP Training
Security Training
Security training is our forte and we offer everything from SIA licensing training all the way to Counter Terrorism advice and Hostile Reconnaissance Awareness training. While licensing training is set by awarding bodies and doesn’t allow for deviation all our other courses can be bespoke to your needs and business circumstances.
Entry requirements
Each candidate MUST produce ID in line with SIA requirements. Any candidate who cannot satisfy the ID requirements will be unable to continue the course. Each candidate will also complete a Basic Skills Agency literacy assessment in line with awarding body and SIA recommendations. The idea of the assessment is to find the literacy level each candidate is at in order to give assistance throughout the learning process. The course content has been assessed as suitable for anyone gaining Level one in Basic Literacy.
First Aid
We are Health and Safety Executive (HSE) registered and are able to offer a full range of First Aid courses. We offer 3 day First Aid at Work, the new 1 day Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW), Paediatric First Aid, 2 day Re-qualifying Courses as well as AED Defibrillator and Oxygen Therapy Training courses. SPP Solutions are able to deliver our First Aid courses according to customer needs and the requirements of your working environment.
First Aid regulations changed on October the 1st 2009 and what it means to you is that if you only needed Appointed Person (AP) training then you will need to look at your First Aid Risk Assessment as the Health and Safety Executive say that any business who used Appointed Persons will now have very little or no justification in using AP to provide First Aid. You will now have to do either the new 3 Day course or the new 1 day Emergency First Aid at Work course.
Control & Restraint
“SPP Solutions have run Personal Safety and Physical Intervention courses for us to the highest standard. Their knowledge of the subject matter combined with their ability to run the courses safely and make people feel at ease was of great benefit to us while providing excellent value for money”.
Mark Dawes D.S.T.T.Dip.N.F.P.S. MEWI. MMCH(Lic) HPD.DipCHyp. MNLP.TFT – Author, Understanding Reasonable Force, Director and National Coach Tutor of National Federation of Personal Safety Ltd – 15/03/2009.
Control and Restraint is being incorporated into the security industry slowly but surely. Providers are out there that will deliver this training and not have the relevant qualifications and the danger is the industry will be in a worse state with it that without it. If you are considering undertaking such training then rest assured that we are a National Federation of Personal Safety (NFPS) registered training centre for Control and Restraint training. We take annual refreshers at the National Sports Centre at Lilleshall to maintain competency and ALL techniques are risk assessed. Training is given after detailed consultation with you, the customer. We look at your physical ability medical condition and business situation to bespoke a package that is workable for you. What is the point of delivering a programme that your people are not capable of doing? Legislation and the Use of Force play a big part in our training. If you understand exactly what you can do then confronting the real situation becomes easier.
Try us, we guarantee you won’t find any better.
Health and Safety
We also offer Health and Safety training and hold IOSH Managing Safely and NEBOSH General Certificate. We provide all aspects of H&S training and can also provide a full audit of your Risk Assessments.
Health and Safety (H&S) is a fact of life in our working lives and has been since the implementation of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. H&S is playing a bigger part now than at any time since its introduction. Employers can’t be complacent in their obligations to their Employees and if they do they run the risk of falling foul of the law. Health and Safety Legislation is changing and closing in on rogue Employers who are not fulfilling their obligations. SPP Solutions can help you.
We offer training in Manual Handling, Display Screen Equipment, and Evacuation Marshal Training and also offer full H&S Consultancy services including Risk Assessments Fire Risk Assessment and Violence at work Risk Assessment

Specialised Courses
SPP Solutions is able to provide individuals or businesses with up to date Counter Terror advice. As soon as people hear the word “Terror” it conjures up mental images of hooded men carrying AK47 assault rifles acting under the banner of Al Qaeda. The reality is very different. Currently there are some 59 Proscribed Terror groups in the UK. Proscription makes it an offence for listed organisations to recruit fundraise or pedal propaganda. Everyone knows Al Qaeda, so who are these other groups? Call us!
Domestic Terrorism is on the rise. You may be working or have connections to animal experimentation companies and therefore will be a target for Domestic Terrorists. We can provide training and advice on issues such as Personal Protection and conduct.
MI5, the Security Service admits that the UK has the same amount of Foreign agents working in this Country as were present during the Cold War era. Why is a company going to spend millions on research and development when they can send agents to rip YOURS off at a fraction of the price? Whether it is Government, Blue Chip, Manufacturing, or intellectual property, it is all there and if you are unprepared or unaware then you are at risk.
The UK has a Counter Terror strategy and in Government this strategy is known as “CONTEST”. CONTEST covers 4 key areas, Prevent, Pursue, Protect and Prepare. We can give up to date training and information to prepare and protect you, your business and the information you hold from unscrupulous sources.
Terrorists have to find targets to attack and during this process of locating potential targets they need to carry out detailed reconnoitre. If you know what to look for this activity known as “Hostile Reconnaissance” can be spotted and reported quickly averting a potential attack. In the run up to the recent G20 summit in London Hostile Reconnaissance activity in the City area was at unprecedented levels. Do you know what to look for? Can we help?
As London becomes harder to attack with the implementation of such things as the Government Security Zone (GSZ) and the level of police activity in the City, attention turns to the less well protected sites. There are sites around the country that are protected and fall under the banner of Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) but equally there are potential targets in every Town and City in the UK, Pubs Clubs or indeed any venue where large numbers of people gather. Are you protected? Can we help?
We have delivered Counter Terror training to Government Departments as well as Industry. Our lead trainer is DV security cleared which is the highest level of National Security clearance currently available. (This level of clearance means that the holder can have unsupervised regular access to TOP SECRET information) Having spent 22 years in the Military and been engaged on Operations on the Pursue strand of CONTEST he is able to provide unrivalled training and advice in this growing area.
Here is what one satisfied customer said:
