Physical Intervention

Physical Intervention Training

SPP Solutions Ltd provide Physical Intervention Training in Havant, Portsmouth, Hampshire and the South Coast as well as Nationally if required. Many industries and professions would benefit from Physical Intervention training, but because many people think its not a legal requirement then it is often payed lip service to. The fact is that under Health and Safety Legislation it is a Legal requirement if it would be reasonably foreseeable that in your chosen profession it could be necessary to Physically Intervene. Such professions would be Nurses, Doctors, Teachers, Youth Workers and anyone working with vulnerable adults.

There is somewhat of a resistance by Managers to send people on Physical Intervention Training or even acknowledge that they need to consider training due to ethical and Legality issues of doing so. This is what the Department for Education published on their website Physical Intervention is not about hurting people, quite the opposite is true, it is there to ensure that challenging people are dealt with in a safe ethical and dignified way to prevent harm to themselves and others

Physical Intervention in Security

Physical Intervention training has now been incorporated into the security industry. The SIA Door Supervision Course is the first course to have compulsory Physical Intervention attached to it in the form of a 10 hour module at the end of the course (Unit 4)

SIA Physical Intervention Standard

SPP Solutions Ltd admit that the SIA Physical Intervention standard falls well short of what Door Supervisors and the Security Industry in general need but its what we currently have to work with. We are well placed to offer guidance and further training should our customers require it. Whether you are considering the SIA Door Supervisor course or want stand alone training then rest assured, we are a National Federation for Personal Safety Ltd (NFPS Ltd) registered training centre for Physical Intervention training.

Choose SPP Solutions for Physical Intervention Training

We are fully insured and we refresh our competence annually at the National Sports Centre at Lilleshall in Shropshire. ALL the techniques which we coach are risk assessed which means not only protection on the course but more importantly protection at work after the course while carrying out your role as long as you apply the technique as taught. Training is given after detailed consultation with you, the customer. We look at your physical ability and capability, medical condition and business situation in order to bespoke a package that is workable for you. Understanding the Legislation surrounding the application of force plays a big part of our training. If you understand exactly what you can do then doing it becomes easier.
