RAF Jets scrambled amid terror fears

2 RAF Typhoon fighters were scrambled from RAF Conningsby in Lincolnshire on the 22 Mar after unusual mid air conversation during which the words ransom and kidnap were used.

The aircraft en route from the US to Frankfurt then made a request to reduce altitude south of Reading. The RAF then scrambled and circled Kent until the aircraft had left UK airspace.
