There will be a SHAC demonstration on Friday 4th Dec 09 against Novartis in Horsham West Sussex at

11:30 Hrs.

Novartis have offices and Labs in West Sussex and Hampshire and have e links to Huntingdon Life Sciences (HLS) Because of banning orders it is difficult to hold demonstrations at HLS itself so now companies like Novartis become targets.

Protests at HLS are difficult due to injunctions and banning orders so targets vary across the UK. Horsham and Southampton are 2 such targets.

Demos take place against Novartis in Horsham and Southampton who conduct primate experiments on site as well as funding experiments directly at HLS. Demos start at varying times each Tuesday/Wednesday and Friday.

Stop Huntingdon Animal Cruelty (SHAC) also hold multiple demos across the South Coast weekly. If you are a potential target of these demos then please ensure you and your staff are prepared.

Al-Qaeda extremists have claimed that home-grown terrorists are plotting to attack targets in Britain.

According to reports, in an internet magazine read by thousands of Islamic extremists Al-Qaeda has labelled Britain and Europe as a bigger enemy than the United States.

It further says that the strikes are being planned by terrorists living in Britain and others overseas, and warns of “spectacular attacks”, ‘The Sun’ reports.

National Extremism Tactical Coordination Unit (NETCU) is a national policing unit set up by ACPO (Association of Chief Police Officers) to respond to the threat of domestic extremism in England and Wales. MI5 has assessed that domestic extremists do not threaten National Security at present.

What is apparent about the tactics used by domestic extremists is that as the companies directly involved in animal experimentation for instance, have undergone considerable security advances and are harder to infiltrate by extremists than they were. What extremists will do is target fringe companies who indirectly have connections to animal experimentation. Banks, insurance companies, supermarkets and retail outlets, law firms packaging companies etc. These companies are comparatively easy targets and employees may have no idea what the threat is to them of their companies.
