HSE 3 Day First Aid at Work Course

This course is designed to give the end user knowledge so that he/she can provide First Aid cover in a higher risk workplace. This course is delivered In line with the First Aid at Work Regulations 1981.

After completing this 3 day course, you will be able to provide First Aid cover in a higher risk workplace.

How much does the course cost?

The course costs £200 per person + VAT.
Course structure

The course includes and expands on the following areas:
  • Dealing with an emergency
  • Assessing a casualty
  • Monitoring a casualty
  • Summoning help
  • Accident recording and reporting
  • Unresponsive and breathing casualty
  • Unresponsive and not breathing, including the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED)
  • Choking
  • Bleeding including the use of Tourniquets and Haemostatic dressings
  • Shock
  • Burns
  • Poisoning
  • Head injury
  • Heat and cold injuries
  • Medical emergencies
  • Breaks and soft tissue injuries
Entry requirements

There are no academic requirements to join this course, however individuals should be able to kneel and perform Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
Assessment method

Continually assessed over the duration of the course with a formal practical assessment on the last day.
Course duration

3 Day (the qualification lasts for 3 Years).
Pass marks

There is a practical assessment covering CPR, dealing with wounds and secondary survey.
